Darryl B. Dewberry

Chairman | CEO

As Chairman and CEO of The Spectrum Companies, Darryl is responsible for ensuring the overall success of the companies, from strategic planning, growing the platform, and leading both the Executive and Investment Committees.

Darryl began his career with a national real estate syndicator, moving quickly from operations to acquisitions in Atlanta, GA. While there, he was introduced to Spectrum and joined the team in 1987, early in its history. Named CEO in 2005, Darryl was appointed Chairman in 2017 and led Spectrum’s strategic decision to initiate the Spectrum Opportunity Fund. He has played a critical role in Spectrum’s growth from startup to a regional developer of and investor in office, multifamily and mixed-use properties.

Darryl and his wife, Connie, have been married 12 years and have four children between them. When Darryl is not working, he and Connie are involved with various charitable initiatives focused on offering individuals a hand up, making a lasting positive impact on their communities. They enjoy travelling together, especially to visit their college aged and young adult children. Darryl also enjoys golfing and going to the beach.

Stephen M. McClure

COO

Steve leads all aspects of The Spectrum Companies, implementing strategy, guiding team leaders, and overseeing the operations of its four service lines: Asset Management, Capital Management, Development, and Contract Services.

A 13-year veteran of the company, Steve joined Spectrum’s commercial leasing team in 2004 and led its residential division for 10 years before being named Chief Operating Officer in January of 2017.

Steve was the key leader in forming Spectrum’s new vision to become an evergreen company and establishing our mission to “change lives by creating special places.” He is responsible for ensuring team members are aligned and focused on living our vision and mission daily.

Steve lives in Charlotte with his wife, Erin, and their two small children, Grace and Jack.

Brent E. Reel

CFO

Brent is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, project financing and risk management for owned and managed projects of the firm and its affiliates.

Prior to joining The Spectrum Companies in 2001, he was a Division Controller with American Asset Corporation in Charlotte, NC and a Regional Accountant with ClubCorp in Dallas, TX. 

Brent is from Denver, North Carolina and has lived in the Charlotte area for 20+ years.  He is married with three children.  Hobbies include running, being outdoors and coaching youth sports.

John M. Boylan

President of Asset Management | CCO

John is responsible for the overall success of Spectrum’s Asset Management line of business, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with our clients and partners.

John began his career with Spectrum in 1989 as a leasing associate in Charlotte, NC.  As President of Asset Management, John has overseen the leasing and management teams for a portfolio ranging from 1 million to 7 million square feet of both Spectrum and third-party owned office assets across the Carolinas.

As Chief Client Officer, John plays an active role in managing client communication and relationships. He also assists the team with equity sourcing for new acquisitions and development opportunities.

John and his wife, Whitney, have resided in Raleigh, NC since 1997 when John opened Spectrum’s Triangle office. He enjoys visiting his son, Mackin, at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and golfing.

Terry Finch
President of Contract Services

Terry Finch

President of Contract Services

Terry is responsible for the overall success of our Contract Services line of business. He specializes in all technical areas of commercial real estate and is responsible for directing the activities of maintenance professionals at all properties.

He provides advanced technical expertise at the property level via capital improvement recommendations and management that regularly result in substantial paybacks to the owners and/or lower operating costs for the project.

Terry takes the lead on all environmental issues associated with existing building or re-development projects. He has effectively led and participated in the startup teams or managed construction for hundreds of projects consisting of Class A office, flex, and warehouse properties, as well as parking garages.

Married for 38 years, Terry has three sons, Hunter, Marshall, and Cole. In his spare time, Terry rides motorcycles, works in his woodworking shop, and occasionally drives the 1923 T Bucket Roadster he built when he was 19 to area car shows.

JD McNeill

JD McNeill

VP of Asset Management

J.D. joined Spectrum Companies in 2014.  His responsibilities include managing our Raleigh team alongside our VP of Property Management, as well as  providing investment and development services to equity partners, asset management firms, building owners, and land owners across the Research Triangle region.

J.D. leads the asset services team assisting institutional owners and investors with lease up and value enhancement of their properties.  He currently oversees the marketing and leasing efforts for some of the area’s most notable assets.

Originally from Pinehurst, North Carolina, J.D. has lived in Raleigh since 2004.  He is married to his wife, Thea, and enjoys being outdoors with their Golden Retriever, Snead. J.D. is an avid golfer and the 2016 and 2017 winner of the NC Four-Ball Championships and qualified for the 2017 US Mid-Amateur.

Jason Fish

Jason Fish

VP of Development

Jason is responsible for the firm’s development projects throughout the Southeast, overseeing all development activities with the project teams.

Prior to joining the firm in 2012, he was a development manager for a privately-owned boutique real estate firm, where he was responsible for the execution of for-sale multi-family development projects.

Jason is from Annapolis, Maryland and has lived in Charlotte since 2005.  He and his wife, Jacqueline, have two young children, Mercy James and Judah.  Jason regularly leads short-term mission trips to Haiti through his local church.

Christi Ossi

VP of Property Management

Christi oversees the property management teams of Spectrum’s Raleigh and Charlotte  portfolios consisting of 5 million square feet of commercial office space.

Christi has extensive experience in both the fiscal and physical management of office, medical, flex, wet and dry labs, industrial, retail, and park associations.  Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Christi was with Capital Associates and responsible for a mixed-use commercial portfolio.

Christi is from Northern Virginia and has lived in the Raleigh area since 1995.  She is married and has two children, Alexis and Zak.  She enjoys relaxing at Smith Mountain Lake with her family, cooking, and watching her children play lacrosse and soccer.

Hunter Finch

Hunter Finch

VP of Contract Services

Hunter oversees operations for the Contract Services division of The Spectrum Companies.

Hunter manages the engineering, maintenance, and construction teams operating in over 3 million­­ square feet of commercial space.  He works closely with the asset management team of each project on the planning and execution of a variety of capital projects and tenant improvements, many of which are performed in-house by our Contract Services tradesmen.  These efforts have focused on a zero-downtime approach resulting in optimized facility reliability and energy efficiency.

Hunter’s experience not only includes commercial office space but also critical facilities, medical, industrial, laboratory, assisted living, and multifamily facilities.

A native to Charlotte where he lives with his wife Haley, Hunter enjoys being outdoors, mountain biking, and any time he can get on the water.

Maxwell is responsible for the leasing of our 300 South Tryon project in Uptown Charlotte and leads our brokerage services team, offering expertise in lease negotiations and multi-market transactions. 

Maxwell has 30 years of local, regional, and national transaction experience representing tenants and landlords across uptown office towers and suburban office buildings. Recognized for his attention to detail and high level of service, Maxwell frequently partners with project managers, architects, contractors, and attorneys to problem solve, streamline processes, and save clients time and money. 

Originally from Elberton, GA, Maxwell has lived in Charlotte for 30 years.  He is the father of three sons, an avid golfer, and is currently active in the Boy Scouts of America.

Ted is responsible for the overall marketing and leasing of approximately 1.5 million square feet of commercial space in the Charlotte area.

Since joining Spectrum in 1987, Ted has successfully re-positioned  office buildings and consistently met or exceeded the leasing goals of our assets. Ted has expertise in high-rise and suburban office, industrial, flex, and mixed-use product type.

Ted is from Lynchburg, Virginia and has lived in Charlotte for 31 years.  Hobbies include painting in his studio in NoDa, playing drums in a rock n’ roll band, and traveling.

Jon Lassiter, CPA

Controller

Jon is responsible for managing Spectrum’s corporate financials, budgets, and forecasts, and he oversees our accounting teams at both the corporate and project levels.

Prior to joining Spectrum, he was a Staff Accountant at Charlotte-based general contractor, Rodgers. Jon joined Spectrum in 2005 as a senior property accountant and was appointed our controller in 2008.

Jon is from Charleston, SC and has lived in Charlotte for 17 years.  He and his wife, Shelley, are the proud parents of their daughter, Raegan, and Golden Retriever, Remy.

Alissa Berkey

Alissa Berkey

Regional Property Manager

Alissa is responsible for the oversight and management of the property and facility duties for Red Hat at its headquarter building in downtown Raleigh.

She oversees the daily operations of the asset and works closely with the client on key initiatives and building related strategies.  Prior to joining the firm in 2016, she was Vice President, Group Regional Manager with a financial institution and part of their real estate team involved with day-to-day operations of both owned and leased properties.  She was responsible for multiple regions within the portfolio which included headquarter buildings, a data center and over 260 retail locations totaling over 5.5 million square feet.

Alissa is from Ontario, Canada.  She and her husband, Michael, have lived in the Raleigh area since October 2016, enjoying the outdoors, local festivals, and amazing music scene.

Polly is responsible for Spectrum’s North Charlotte portfolio consisting of 1.3 million square feet of commercial office and flex space.

She leads the management and maintenance teams in developing and executing the strategic plans, capital improvements, daily operations, and tenant relations of each asset. Polly’s real estate experience includes the management of office, medical, flex, industrial, and retail product, as well as park associations.

Prior to joining Spectrum in 2009, Polly was with Stephen D. Bell & Company and responsible for a mixed-use commercial portfolio throughout the southeast.

Polly is originally from St. Louis and has lived in the Charlotte area for 20 years.

Caroline Grier

Executive Coordinator

Caroline is responsible for supporting the executive team on all special projects, organization, and employee initiatives.

Caroline handles investor communication for Spectrum Capital Management, including reporting and documentation of quarterly reports, distributions, and capital calls. She also provides ancillary support to the marketing and development teams, organizes community service initiatives, and manages our corporate administrator.

Caroline is an Uptown Charlotte resident with her husband and two dogs. She loves to travel, try new restaurants, and is a devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers.
